4 thousand employees and still growing – ten years of dynamic development of Citi Service Center Poland
Citi Service Center Poland started its operations in Poland in 2005 with a headcount of 57 people. Today, in its eleventh year, the shared services center of Citi in Poland has exceeded the threshold of 4 thousand employees. The largest of Citi teams of this type in EMEA is part of a global service network. Locations in Warsaw and Olsztyn provide specialized services to Citi clients in 94 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and both Americas.
Year-end is a good time to take a look at our current position from a broader perspective. The last 6 years was a period of rapid development of the shared services centers industry – in 2010 with 1,000 people we were among 300 centers with foreign capital operating in Poland, and today, with more than 4,000 employees, we are one of over 600 such companies. I’m glad that Citi Service Center Poland is among the beneficiaries of the dynamic development of the sector and, despite growing competition in the market, it is among the leaders, says Iwona Dudzińska, CSC Poland Head. The market is constantly changing and one of the key changes to be faced in 2017 and in subsequent years will be a generation change and its consequences for the organizational culture. Today over 80% of our employees are Millennials, i.e. persons born after 1981, which translates into communication, both internal and external – hence projects such as #pracujebolubie (I Love My Job!) campaign or a clip about the development of CSC Poland on Youtube, adds Iwona Dudzińska from the point of view of the person responsible for the operations and development of CSC locations in Warsaw and Olsztyn.
Citi Service Center Poland offers a wide variety of jobs for both students and graduates, as well as professionals interested in personal development in a large, international organization. CSC Poland offers jobs in such areas as AML, Securities Services Operations, other banking operations or IT. 241 out of over 500 CSC Poland managers are women. The philosophy of diversity and development is also reflected in CSC Poland’s wide range of networking groups such as Citi Women or Women in Technology as well as its participation in external initiatives such as LeadersIN of the Vital Voices Foundation.
Diversity is a characteristic of CSC Poland – an “international flavor” to the organization is given by its employees, every tenth of which is a foreigner, as well as by the specificity of work performed in 27 languages for customers in more than 90 countries of the world.
For many employees, the Summer Internship Program as well as other development programs provided a good start for their career in CSC. The Summer Internship Program is addressed to students who would like to get to know the organization and gain their first professional experience. Development programs differ from the internships in their duration and specificity – participants of development programs do rotations which give them not only a broad knowledge about a given area, but also an opportunity to implement ambitious projects with a possibility of further development to become an expert or a manager.
