Citi Handlowy ranked No. 1 in the competition organized by the Ministry of Finance
Citi Handlowy has won in the competition for the function of Treasury Securities Dealer (TSD) in 2014, organized by the Ministry of Finance. This is already the second time the Bank has been recognized in this prestigious ranking.
This is a big distinction for us. We see this as an expression of investors' confidence and confirmation of the effectiveness of our financial markets team. I am pleased that as a result of our work we contribute to the effective issuance policy carried out by the Ministry of Finance, and thus we actively support market liquidity, said Witold Zieliński, Vice President of Citi Handlowy upon collecting the award.
Just like in the previous year, Citi Handlowy once again scored the highest number of points in all four consecutive quarters of the competition period and that gives the Bank the first place on the list of 16 banks, announced by the Ministry of Finance, gaining rights to perform the duties of a Treasury Security Dealer in 2014. This year’s success can be largely contributed to the new technology of the quotation tools which allowed the Bank to achieve the highest score for the quality of market making in Poland’s Treasury Bond Spot market. The key customers of the Citi Group with their primary market orders did not let down the Bank, either. Their support especially in the final stage of the competition helped to seal the victory of Citi Handlowy.
The greatest praise and recognition should be given to our team, which achieves the best results in the market. We are the unquestionable leader in terms of the quality of quotations in the secondary market, in addition to achieving d very good results in the primary market. We also actively promote Poland as an attractive investment opportunity and support the development of the Polish bond market. Citi’s global network clearly helps us achieve these objectives, stressed Misbah Shah, Head of Treasury Division, Vice-President of the Management Board of Citi Handlowy.
The Treasury Securities Dealers system operates in almost all EU countries. In Poland it was introduced in 1996 but the competition for Treasury Securities Dealers has been organized by the Ministry of Finance since 2002.
