BLIK mobile transactions available for Citi Handlowy clients

Starting today, Citi Handlowy clients can use BLIK. With this service, they can make fast and secure payments online and at traditional stores, deposit and withdraw money via ATMs and send funds transfers by telephone.

"We are happy that BLIK has joined the mobile payments available for Citi Handlowy clients. Transactions with a BLIK code are already available to holders of both personal accounts and credit cards under Citi Handlowy's brand. To use it, all you need to do is start your Citi Mobile application" says Tomasz Makowski, Remote Banking Product Director at Citi Handlowy.

BLIK has been rapidly winning users of banking mobile applications. As of September 30, 2021, it was actively used by 8.6 million people, which means a half of all the regular users of banking applications in Poland.

Clients of Citi Handlowy can pay by BLIK in the entire Polish e-commerce universe and on many foreign shopping platforms (with their number constantly on the rise), and via terminals in traditional stores, as well as withdraw cash from more than 20,000 ATMs throughout Poland. They may also use BLIK funds transfers by telephone – which means sending money to other users without entering their bank account numbers. The phone number of a recipient is all that is needed.

Over the 6 years since it was launched, BLIK has become the most popular mobile payment platform in Poland. Every quarter, BLIK is used to make nearly 200 million transactions for nearly PLN 27 billion. This solution is available to all customers that use banking mobile applications in Poland. The system developer is the company Polski Standard Płatności (PSP – Polish Payment Standard).
